Random pictures...

I finally hooked my camera up to the computer.  Here are some randomly selected photos:

I found Andrew in the pantry one day humming a little tune.  "What are you doing?" I asked.  "Making a pretzel sandwich," he replied.  I sat and watched him as he put the pretzels on the bread and folded it over.  He picked it up, took a bite.  Crunch, crunch, crunch.  "Mmmmmmmmm," he said.  But he only took the one bite, then ran off to play and left the sandwich for me to photograph.

I came downstairs one day and was greeted by this lovely group, assembled by Camille.

The note in front:

Memorial Day we visited Coronado State Monument near our home.  Interesting replicas of a pueblo and actual native artifacts.  There was a reconstructed kiva that Ganon and the kids climbed down into (a kiva is a large room built for religious rituals. You climb up a ladder to the top of it, then down a ladder to the inside). We walked around the grounds and along the Bosque (pronounced bo-skay if you use proper Spanish, pronounced boss-key if you are from New Mexico).  The Bosque is the area surrounding the Rio Grande, and the greenest part of these lands.  It's also the largest group of cottonwood trees in the United States (you didn't know you would learn so much today, did you?).  Today part of the Bosque caught fire, a fire so big it jumped the river.  We watched the smoke and airplanes and helicopters all afternoon.

Here the kids are by an outdoor oven at Coronado:

Love this blooming cactus:

Father's Day, what a lovely crew.  I love Andrew's expression of extreme happiness, and Jacob's expression of the opposite.

But Jacob usually looks like this:

This picture is really old.  It's from last October.  To kick off Balloon Fiesta each year they inflate balloons at elementary schools all around Albuquerque and Rio Rancho.  We got up early to watch this one inflate and take off from Laura and Camille's school.  Then we still had time before school, so we drove back home.  We were so surprised to find that very same balloon had landed at the end of our own street!

Here are 4 of my children dancing and singing around the oldest church in the United States (it's in Santa Fe).  I loved this, because it reminded me of my favorite movie (Sound of Music) where the kids are marching and singing around the fountain.
Do, a deer, a female deer.  Re, a drop of golden sun...
