My brother Tyler is a Math and Science guy. He reads books about math problems for fun. Last summer he drove to Utah with me. To pass the time, I asked him outrageously difficult math problems and watched him quickly solve them in his head. He's pretty smart. (Remember his Rubik's cube skills? http://jennierowan.blogspot.com/2008/11/my-brother-tyler.html)
Just for fun, he decided to send a weather balloon up into space. He attached a package to it that had a GPS and camera in it. Checking the weather patterns, he sent it up hoping to have it eventually land somewhere near my home. It got pretty close, landing near Yosemite. He and my parents hiked through the woods and found it. (Sidenote: my Dad is still battling poison oak weeks later). Here are some photos the camera took...

I really admire Tyler for wanting to learn and understand things. He recently received a mission call, and will be speaking Spanish in Boise, Idaho. I am excited for him and excited for Idaho to get to see his smiling face for two years.

That is unbelievable. Stuff like that is so impressive to me because my brain does not work like that at all. (!) Tyler is such an awesome kid. COngrats on the mission call too.
I thought this was so cool. I shared it with a friend of mine I knew would enjoy it...they did! Out of the ordinary thing for someone to do!
That is amazing! Scott and I were dying over those pictures. Pretty cool!
